# 결국은, 영어 실력의 기본은 문법과 어휘력이다.

 

 

 

다음에 몇 토막의 영어문장을 읽어보자.

결국은 영어문법과 단어, 표현등을 많이 알수록 영어로 된 글을 읽기 편해지는건 사실이다.

많이 알수록 많이 읽을수 있다.

Volunteer rescue worker Dr. Pedro Serrano managed to crawl into the crevices of the tottering pile of rubble that had been Escuela Enrique Rebsamen.

He made it into a classroom, but found all of its occupants dead.

 

 

 

 

 

많은 단어나 숙어 표현을 알아야 <의미단위>로 끊어읽기도 좀 더 쉽게 접근할수 있다.

기본 실력이 중요한 셈이다.

 

확실히 곧장 영자신문을 접근하기엔 부담감이 심하다

우선 독해나 문법책의 문장부터 정복하는게 영어공부를 좀 쉽게 시작하는 방법인듯 싶다.

문장을 의미단위로 나누어보자.

문장을 읽을 때는 항상 <주어+서술어> 단위를 찾는다.

그리고 구와절의 의미단위로 표현 덩어리를 읽어나간다.

문법이나 구문, 의미단위의 독해는 하나의 기술일 뿐이다.

결론은 문법이론을 암기하고, 단어나 표현덩어리를 사전으로 찾아서

자신의 이해범위로 해석해서 암기하고 연습해야 영어지식을 자신의 것으로 만들수 있다.

저절로 영어가 잘되는 비법은 없는 것이다.

단지 영어공부의 방법과 속도를 바꿀 뿐이다.

# 영어공부와 시험공부를 비교해 본다.

 

 

 

영어를 의미단위, 청크로 접근하는 방법이 영어를 잘하기 위한 출발점은 될수 있다.

<주어+서술어/동사>로 이어지는 기본문장을 끝내고, 수식어를 이어서 쓴다는

단순한 기술에서 영어문장을 습득하는 원리를 발견할수 있다.

 

 

의미덩어리를 주절로 파악하든가, 종속절/수식어 덩어리로 파악하든가의 선택만이

있을 뿐이다.

그렇게 한덩어리 표현씩 습득하면 어느정도의 량을 채우고 나면 영어를 좀 할수 있게

되는 것이다.

영어독해는 그정도선에서 만족해도 될듯 하다.

 

 

 

기본 원리를 알고, 그것을 영영사전이나 숙어집, 문법책으로 공부를 더해주면서

영어를 조금씩 늘려가는게 어쩌면 영어공부의 전부일지도 모른다.

나머지 세세한 사항은 그렇게 걱정할 꺼리는 아니다.

시험을 잘치고 합격을 하기 위한 고민이 먼저 더 중요한 일이기는 하다.

영어를 잘한다고 나이가 많이 든 지금에 와서 도움이 되지는 않는다.

시험을 합격하는 방법이 아주 중요한 시점이기도 하다.

 

인강, 기본서, 기출...이라는 기본원리를 바탕으로 제대로 반복하는 학습이 중요하다.

그래야 성공할수 있다.

회독을 10회독정도 한다면 거의 합격점수까지는 나올듯 하다.

 

마음을 제대로 잡고 성실하게 하나의 목표를 향해서 차근차근 나아갈 시점이다.
