일단,

문장구조의 전체적인 모습을 살펴본다

 

문장 = <기본문장> + [형용사패턴/~ing,~ed,toV] + [부사패턴]

 

문장 = <주어, 동사, [형용사]목적어[형용사구/절], 보어> + [수식어구] + ...

 

 

 

그 다음에는 문법책으로 각각의 문장성분자리에 사용할

문법사항을 자세히 공부한다.

그와 동시에 단어, 숙어, 구어체표현덩어리등을 독해교재로 연습하고

정리, 암기를 하는 것이 올바른 학습법이다.

 

 

문장구조를 거시적으로 구조를 잡아서 이해를 하고 나면,

문장속에서의 6개의 문장성분 자리가 눈에 보일 것이다.

그 각자의 자리에 들어갈 문법용어를 공부해야 한다.

의미단위에 대한 연구가 필요하다

어순법칙에 대한 공부,

 

뼈대와 수식, 기본문장과 수식어구, 주절과 종속절

각각의 관계에 대한 분석이 필요,

 

문법책의 예문을 문장구조학습이라는 관점에서 공부하기

시작한다. 그래야 나중에 자신의 말과 글로 영어구사가 가능한 것이다.

내가 회화를 할때 순서를 가정해보자

 

(1) 내가 말하고싶은 주제를 우선 던져야한다 ---> 기본문장

 

 

(2) 그 다음에 앞에 명사를 더 설명하는 형용사어구를 덧붙여주거나,

기타정보를 더할 부사어구를 말해준다.

 

(3) 2번째 기본문장을 접속사로 연결하거나, 새롭게 문장을 시작하면 된다

 

 

이렇게 실제 문장을 말하거나 글로 표현하는 <output, 출력>작업을

염두에 두고 영어학습을 시작해야 올바른 방향성이 눈에 보일것이다.

 

 

 

자신에게 필요한 공부가 무엇인지 정확히 알고 시작해야 한다.

기본문장의 문장성분과 수식어구들의 자리/위치에 쓰일

품사값, 준동사구, 접속사절등을 하나씩 공부해가면 되고,

그 각각의 경우에 해당하는 영어예문을 철저히 정리,암기해야 한다

단어를 낱개로 암기하는 것도 중요하지만, 덩어리표현을 통째로 구와절의

의미단위로 암기해야 실전에서 영어로 사용가능해질 것이다.

한때는 <영어회화 테이프 시리즈 40개>를 암기하면 영어를

잘할수 있다고 생각한 시기가 있었다

정철, 오성식회화, 민병철 교재, 미시간액션잉글리시등등

지금도 서점에는 수많은 회화책, 패턴학습책등이 존재한다

 

그런데 왜 이런 회화책을 많이 암기해도 영어가 잘 된다는 실력을

갖추기가 그렇게나 힘든 이유는 무엇일까 ?

 

 

문장을 너무 무식하게 암기해서 실력이 늘지 않는다.

하나의 예문은 <기본문장> , <수식어들>, <부사절> 등등의 

덩어리로 의미단위를 나누어서 학습하고 암기해야 하는 것들이다.

그리고 문법책의 주절/종속절 개념을 이용해서 방향을 잘 잡아야 한다.

 

문장구조를 잘 이해하고, 그 구조에 맞게 덩어리표현을 정리, 암기하는

연습을 해야 논리적인 영어가 가능해진다.

 

<기본문장>을 일단 말해본다.

그 다음에는 앞의 명사를 더 꾸며줄지, 시간장소원인결과와 같은

부사정보를 더 더해줄지 잘 논리적으로 문장예문이나 독해지문을 분석해 

연습해야 한다.

 

회화책이나 시중에 많이 나온 패턴영어책들의 문제점은

핵심문법을 중심으로 문장을 나누어서 덩어리표현 형태로 접근하는

방법을 제시하지 않기 때문이다.

회화책은 문법책을 기준으로 접근해야 자신의 실력으로 체화가 가능해진다.

 

그리고 일정 수준이 넘어서면,

회화책이 아닌 독해교재나, 영어원서, 영자신문등의 독해지문을 

연습해서 길고 복잡한 문장을 구사할 실력까지 단계를 높여야 한다.
