한국식 문법공부가 영어를 못하게 만드는 주범이다...

라는 수능강사들이 많았다.

그들은 그런 논리로 <성문종합>이나, 5형식공부가 영어문맹자를 만들었다는

주장을 했다.

수능이나 토익등의 교육방식으로 변화된지가 10년이 넘어서야 

그 논리가 문제가 많다는 사실을 인지하게 된다.

물론,

한국식 문법공부가 문제가 많다는 점은 동의한다.

한국식 문법문제로는 토익/토플, 텝스의 영어접근법의 장점을 깨닫기는

많이 어렵기 때문이다.

토플, 토익, 텝스의 문법문제들은

<문장구조>의 중요성을 잘 지적해준다.

그런 문장접근법을 알아야 영어를 정말 잘할수 있는 것이다.

<토플, 텝스문법의 특징>

(1) 단문, 중문, 복문이라는 문장의 개념구조가 중요하다

(2) 문장에서 정동사와 아닌것을 구분하는 스킬을 익힌다

(3) 실제 사용하는 구어체표현의 중요성을 알수있다

한국식 문법책은 전체적인 문법이론을 정리, 암기하는 용도로는 좋은

장점을 갖고있다.

그러나 실제 영어사용능력에서의 문장을 접근하는 방법을 알려주지 않는다.

명사, 분사, 관계사의 특징을 추상적으로 안다고 문장을 독해, 작문할수는 없다.

<주어+서술어~>라는 형태를 감각적으로 구별하는 스킬이 영어능력이라는

사실을 제대로 인식해야 할것이다.

문법책에서 예문을 볼때 이론이해를 위한 용도로만 보지말고, 하나하나의 

문장을 암기하는 연습을 해야 한다.

<누가 /~한다/~을>이라는 3형식문형은 많은 쉬운 예문과 표현, 콜로케이션을

암기하면 그 필요성을 잘 깨닫게 될것이다.

문법책의 예문을 정리하고 암기하는 것이 제일 먼저 할 공부대상이다.

보통은 재미가 없어서 잘 안하는 영역이기도 하다.

영어를 잘하기 위해서는 기본적인 문장, 표현을 열심히 공부해야 한다.

You need only look at this White House “summit”

to understand

why real news, produced by independent, fact-based media,

is so essential right now.

We are living at a time

when social media already blurs the line between fact and fiction.

Without a press that speaks “truth to power,”

demagogues can sell their falsehoods unhindered.

“Our liberty depends on freedom of the press,”

Thomas Jefferson famously said.

Yet media freedom has been deteriorating

in recent years

not only in places you’d expect,

such as China and Russia,

but also in some of the world’s most influential democracies.
